(CHICAGO) – The Little Village Chamber of Commerce announces that the Mexican Independence Day Parade is back and scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022. The parade will kick-off at noon from the historic Little Village Arch located on 26th street and Albany Avenue and proceed down 26th street to Kostner Avenue. This year’s parade theme is, “Nuestra Unidad es Nuestra Fortaleza,” or “Our Unity is Our Strength,” which serves as a reminder that our culture, resilience and unity as a community hold strong.
“After a long two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Little Village Chamber of Commerce is ready and looking forward to hosting the largest and most popular Mexican Independence Day parade,” said Ivette Treviño, Executive Director, Little Village Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to welcome residents, and visitors to join us in celebrating our culture while continuing to support our growing, and thriving community.”

The 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade is considered one of the largest parades in the midwest and brings together over 500,000 participants, residents, and visitors along the two-and half-mile business corridor. The parade features brightly colored floats, mariachi bands, and folkloric dancing. The parade is attended and enjoyed by residents, elected officials, community leaders, local businesses, entertainers, artisans, and artists.
