My name is J Jesus Marin, my first time in the United States was in 1977 at the age of 17. Since then, I worked in supermarkets as a butcher and occasionally returned to Mexico to make a life there. That never worked out for me, in 2003 I decided to come live with my family and make a life here, working as a butcher again for ten years.
Until January 2013 I was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime, to have my own business, a restaurant. The previous owner was Raul Pedroza, with his restaurant El Pollo Ranchero, he was looking to sell it since he had achieved what he was looking for, and it was the opportunity for me to start.
One day passing by at 4147 W 26th St, I saw that the restaurant was for sale, without hesitation and with my hope of changing and improving my life, I spoke with Raul, and we closed the deal. There, Pollo Bravo was born. Since 2013, my family and I have served and worked in my restaurant to get ahead. We have faced several challenges, such as the 2020 pandemic, but we have overcome them. Currently, my restaurant is located at 4105 W 26th St., since 2022, after years of work to obtain my own building for my restaurant. Today, we continue to face difficulties, but I remain eager to improve and for my restaurant to prosper.
