In the 1980’s Panaderia Coral, which was at that time named “Coral Bakery” baked conchas and bolillos for the growing Mexican population in Little Village. The bakery was the first to introduce Picones and Roscas de Reyes to the neighborhood.

After 25 years, the business was taken over by the daughter of the owner, Gloria Canchola. Gloria and her husband changed the name of the bakery to “Panaderia Coral.” It was her husbands idea to start selling tamales, champurrado and tortas since the business was open early in the morning.

Today the business continues to grow and more menu items have been added to the menu at the request of neighborhood customers! The family prides itself on continuing the legacy by still using her father’s recipes!
