La Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) has an upcoming Cultural Center Open House event on Thursday, April 2nd from 4-8pm. This Open House is focused on artist professional development and includes an evening of hands-on workshops, headshots, film sector resources, portfolio reviews and networking sessions designed to support Chicago’s creative community. These programs will span disciplines including music, film, theater, visual arts and professional development for artists. Highlights include Artistic & Professional Development workshops that support Chicago artists and arts organizations:

· Pitch Workshop (4:00 – 5:00PM): Come learn how to converse in a way that preps you for opportunities. Then apply what you learn to the rest of the night. Facilitated by Sam Brown, The Sypher Productions.

· One on One Sessions for Project Development (5:00-6:30PM): Discuss your creative or artistic project—whether it’s in film, public art, or a potential grant application—with a DCASE staff member to get feedback on how to advance your project.

· “The Creative Core” (5:30 – 6:30PM): A community building social hour to share space and network with thematic prompts. Facilitated by Pugs Atomz.

· “A Soft Place to Land” (7:00 – 8:00PM): A wellness workshop for creative workers to participate in a reflective movement exercise. Facilitated by Sam Brown, The Sypher Productions.
