Ric ha trabajado en La Villita durante m\u00e1s de 10 a\u00f1os en diferentes instituciones financieras. Ric es un ex presidente de la SSA#25 y fue parte del grupo original que renov\u00f3 los estatutos para cumplir con los requisitos cambiantes de la ciudad de Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>El Sr. Porrez est\u00e1 casado y es un padre orgulloso de dos ni\u00f1as exitosas, un fan\u00e1tico de los Cachorros de toda la vida y un veterano de 22 a\u00f1os en el negocio de servicios financieros. Ella ha estado involucrada en diferentes esfuerzos. Ella era miembro del consejo escolar local de la escuela primaria a la que asist\u00edan sus hijos; elegido Presidente del Consejo de Distrito de la Escuela 5; abarcan 50 escuelas y el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad. Antigua miembro del Centro de Salud Dr. Jorge Prieto, Elena form\u00f3 parte del equipo que trabaj\u00f3 para ampliar los servicios y las instalaciones para proporcionar atenci\u00f3n de medicina familiar en el vecindario de Little Village. Con un grupo de cinco padres y la ACLU trabajaron para que la Ciudad de Chicago y otras agencias de la ciudad siguieran su compromiso de construir la nueva escuela para los estudiantes de la Escuela Secundaria de Ciencias Agr\u00edcolas de Chicago. Elena era miembro de asociaciones de la ciudad natal y con funcionarios gubernamentales mexicanos; promovi\u00f3 oportunidades en Zacatecas y otros estados para una mejor calidad de vida para sus residentes a trav\u00e9s de programas y becas educativas. Ella tambi\u00e9n ha sido miembro de Enlace Chicago desde su inicio; trabajando con los l\u00edderes para ver la construcci\u00f3n de Little Village High School y otros programas.<\/p>\n<p>Comisionada del \u00c1rea de Servicio #26 desde el principio y es propietaria de un nuevo negocio de Artesanias Elena; Elena est\u00e1 oficialmente jubilada, pero contin\u00faa trabajando como int\u00e9rprete \/ traductora y participa activamente en la Epifan\u00eda de su parroquia. Her outreach and policy experience has focused on issues from economic development to public health, where she has advised clients on the most effective ways to implement community affairs\u00a0programs to support legislative and regulatory approvals at the local, state, and\u00a0federal levels. She has advocated in the Illinois General Assembly, coordinating\u00a0legislative hearings and testimony and conducting direct engagements with state\u00a0lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>As SSA #25 Commissioner of the Little Village Special Service Area representing\u00a0her family&#8217;s business, Claudia advocates for access to resources on behalf of small\u00a0businesses. In addition, she focuses on highlighting the rich culture and\u00a0entrepreneurial spirit of the Little Village business community.<\/p>\n<p>Claudia serves as Chief of Public Affairs for the Noble Network of Charter Schools,\u00a0overseeing the network&#8217;s communications, government, and community affairs\u00a0strategy. She previously served as Executive Director of the Illinois Beverage\u00a0Association, leading the organization toward successfully repealing the Cook County\u00a0beverage tax. Prior to that, she worked as a legislative aide to the chairman of the\u00a0Committee on Health and Environmental Protection, conducting research and\u00a0assisting committee members and the Office of the Mayor with policy introduction.<\/p>\n<p>Claudia is a lifelong Chicagoan from Little Village. She is a current board member of\u00a0the Mexican Civic Society of Illinois and, in 2016, was named one of Negocios Now\u00a0Latinos 40 under 40 and one of Los 26 de la 26 in 2022. With more than 37 years of experience, Central States SER focuses on providing job readiness training, career placement services, providing access to vocational training, and training grants to support youth and adults across the Chicagoland area in their employment or education goals. Mr. Avila brings over 13 years of expertise in Workforce Development, particularly in assisting low-income and underserved populations in program development and implementation of direct services.\nHe earned a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Advertising and Visual Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology and an Associate&#8217;s degree in Business Management from Morton College. His qualifications also include certifications in Business Management and Accounting, and a Completion Certification from the Job Developer Track at The Chicago Job Council.\nBefore his current position, Mr. Avila managed Adult Programs, overseeing grants from the State of Illinois, the Illinois Department of Human Services, ComEd Exelon, the Illinois Tollway, and the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. Prior to that, he served as the Coordinator of Business Services for the Illinois region of SER, where he handled a program funded by the Department of Labor and distributed locally by The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership called On The Job Training. This program provides up to $10,000 to local employers willing to hire and train new employees, with Mr. Avila facilitating agreements with various firms and developing training plans to enhance retention rates and employee success.
