The mission of the Little Village Special Service Area #25 is to preserve the cultural identity of the commercial and local community while creating a more attractive and distinctive business area.
What is a Special Service Area?
A Special Service Area (SSA) is an economic development tool created by state statute and city ordinance that allows additional real estate property taxes to be levied to fund added services for a defined area. The services funded through the SSA tax are in addition to services generally provided by the City and benefit those properties located within SSA boundaries.
SSA #25 Boundaries:
- 25th St. from Lawndale Ave. to Troy St.
- 26th St. from California Ave. to Kenton Ave.
- 31st St. from Springfield Ave. to Karlov Ave.
- Kedzie Ave. from 31st St. to 24th
- Pulaski Ave. from 31st St. to Cermak
